As part of our tenth anniversary celebration, we want to recognize an author who has been with us since the very beginning. Over the past decade, Poe Ballantine has graced our catalogue with two incredible novels, God Clobbers Us All and Decline of the Lawrence Welk Empire along with two collections of nonfiction short stories entitled Things I Like About America, and 501 Minutes to Christ. He’s also currently working on two upcoming Hawthorne titles, including the nonfiction effort Love and...Forward

The last few weeks have been fantastic here at Hawthorne Books. Our spring title The Chronology of Water launched on April 1st and it’s been getting loads of great press!

A version of this post originally appeared over at Red Room in late January 2011.

In October 2011, my debut novel, The Luminist, will be published in the US and elsewhere. In late January, my publisher, Hawthorne Books, released the image that will grace the cover. When I saw it, I could not help but hear the closing of a circle that began in the beautiful halls of the Getty Museum.
